Experience Sharing Meeting for the Operationalization of the TIR System in Iraq
Date: 9-10 September 2024 Location: Ankara, Türkiye Overview: Iraq has acceded to the TIR Convention as its 78th Contracting Party on 27 March 2023, with the Convention entering into force in Iraq on 27 September 2023. To fully operationalize the TIR System in Iraq, several steps need to be taken by the competent authorities, including authorizing an association, customs offices, TIR Carnet holders, and vehicles, as well as training personnel and introducing supportive national legislation.

UNECE Facilitates eTIR Implementation in the Eurasian Economic Union

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Secretariat, in collaboration with the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, hosted a workshop on September 17-18, 2024, to discuss the implementation of the eTIR procedure in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
