Meeting between the Georgian Customs Administration and the TIR Secretariat

The meeting was attended by the delegations of Georgian Customs (6 delegates), IRU (2 delegates) and the TIR Secretariat (UNECE).

After a brief tour de table and opening remarks from both sides, ECE presented a project overview, a proposed project methodology, a technical overview of the eTIR international system, summarized the financial assistance and answered various questions. The participants agreed to the following:

  • The connection to the eTIR international system will ultimately replace the connection to the Central Exchange Platform set up during the Georgia-Turkey eTIR pilot project. Turkey will also be informed accordingly.
  • Georgia will form a project team and inform ECE of its composition.
  • Georgia will start analyzing the eTIR specifications v.4.3, prepare a first draft of the project schedule and communication plan and send any questions.
  • Next meeting.
