First eTIR transports successfully conducted between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is pleased to announce the successful installation and deployment of the eTIR national application in Kyrgyzstan, immediately followed by a distinguished milestone of the very first eTIR transports taking place between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
After providing training to customs officers in both Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and with the support of the IRU and the national associations of both countries (AIRTO KR and ABBAT), two eTIR transports successfully took place between the two countries .
This milestone represents a significant step forward in digitalizing the TIR procedure in Central Asia and to enhance the efficiency, security, and transparency of international road transport operations.
UNECE will continue to support contracting parties to the TIR convention in ensuring the effective use of the system and the successful implementation of the eTIR procedure. This progress reflects the shared commitment of all stakeholders to modernize transit systems and promote sustainable and efficient international transport.
